Snuggle Season Approaches

Savannah Cat Bob & his Mommy
Hi everyone! Thanks for reading my blog. Everything is going pretty good for me lately but I'm a little worried about my Mommy. I think she might be shrinking.

A few nights ago while I was guarding the neighborhood from the lookout on the catio, it got really cold. It confused me because I thought cold-time was over. Hot-time is nice because the windows are open and the squirrels can hear me yell at them. It's not very comfortable to snuggle on laps during hot-time though. I've been settling for the next-to-lap-snuggle but it just isn't the same.

So, on this particularly chilly night, I jumped off my lookout and went to find Mommy's lap. It was just as warm and snuggly as I remembered! Her and Daddy gave me a bunch of kisses too, which made me pur! Then I tried to stretch out but I couldn't...not and stay on Mommy's lap. I had to curl myself up into a tight little ball to fit on her lap. I know her lap was big enough for me to stretch out during the last cold-time. This is why I am worried that she may be shrinking.

Luckily, we figured out a way for most of me to be on her lap while the rest of me lays on a pillow next to her.

Savannah Cat Super Genius - Entry 230

Belly rubs are very relaxing.
Hey there, everyone! I'm 8 1/2 months old now and I weigh 10lbs!  Mommy says I'm a big boy and a super genius because I learn new things everyday.

Last week, I learned how to lock the bathroom door. A few moments later, I learned that Mommy does not have a key for the bathroom door. We were both scared that I would have to live in the bathroom forever. Lucky for me, all my humans are really smart and they figured out how to save me.

Now that I'm a big boy, I had to learn a new way to get morning kisses from Mommy. You see, like me, my Mommy is a special breed. Savannah Cats are bigger and stronger than regular domestic cats but Mommy's breed of human is smaller and more fragile than regular domestic humans.
Help! She's tickling me!

I used to just walk up Mommy's stomach and lay on her face so she could give me morning kisses without getting up. Well, one day when I was walking up her stomach she made a noise...like, maybe that didn't feel very good on her stomach. So now, I just stand next to Mommy while she is laying in bed and then I gently roll on top of her...and put my face right in her mouth so she can give me morning kisses without getting up!
I'm a pro at cleaning toes!

Savannah Cat Helps Out - Entry 225

Boy oh boy, this has been a really busy week!  I have to train a whole new herd of humans on how to take care of Mommy.  It isn't easy and sometimes I have to break the rules in order to do my job properly.

For example, I know there are counters and tables and other places that I'm not allowed but I have to jump up there to make sure the new humans are doing things right.  I have to take the first sip of Mommy's tea to make sure there is enough honey in it.  I have to thoroughly inspect the inside of the toilet to make sure they flushed it after Mommy uses it.  If they forget to flush it, then I have to bring them whatever Mommy left in there so that they never forget again.  I also do my best to taste all of their snacks to make sure they have high standards and don't try to feed Mommy junk food.

On top of all this extra work, I still have to make sure Mommy gets enough exercise and snuggles.  It isn't easy being a Helper Cat but it sure pays well!

Bob the Savannah Cat - Entry 020

With Kris Pickel from WKYC Channel 3 News
Oh boy, I sure am tired tonight.  Being Mommy's special helper is hard work.  Today we had to get up early and I didn't get my morning snuggles.  I did not like that.  Then, I didn't get to help Mommy take her bath.  I didn't like that either.  The worst part though was when ALL my toys got put away.  I REALLY did not like that at all.

Then the nice news lady came to interview me but Mommy kept getting in the way.  After I showed off my best Serval impression, I let Mommy finish up the interview.  When it was over and the nice news lady left, I got to have all my toys back!  We were too tired to play though so we took a nap and I finally got my morning snuggles!  Life is good.

Bob the Savannah Cat - Entry 015

Hey everybody!  I hope your weekend was as purrrrfect as mine.  I got extra snuggle-time on the couch with my family and we watched cartoons.  Then the party really got started!  See for yourself.

Bob the Savannah Cat - Entry 012

Me and Mommy
Hi, everybody!  It's Bob here again.  Have you heard of a 'time-out?'  They are horrible.  I learned about 'time-out' this week because sometimes I just get so happy and excited that I can't control myself and I go bonkers!  After a few minutes in the bathroom by myself though, I'm able to calm down.  Then I get snuggles and kisses.  So, I guess 'time-out' isn't horrible but I still don't like it very much.

Bob the Savannah Cat - Entry 009

One of my duties as Mommy's special helper is, I have to help her relax in the evening.  This is one of my favorite parts of the job because I get lots of snuggles and kisses!  Sometimes we play a really fun game during snuggle time.  Mommy has a snack and I have to see how many times I can lick it before she notices!
